All part of the charm ain't it...Now you can come back indoors smelling of bonfires.
Kids set fire to marshmallows.
Neighbours hate us.
Clothes stink...
I can live with of the above,
Already got a massively over the top stainless plinth type thing underway to lift it all up off the deck...

as long as its temporary you should be fine go near nightly and you can expect to be reported
neighbours dont have to put up with your firepit all beccause you enjoy one of them
I think mine was lazier . . the drum from a scrapped washing mahcine, stood on bricks.
Threw the hedge trimmings in and away it went . . . three full brown bin fulls. Did it at night so neighbours couldn't see the smoke . . . problem was the 6ft flame was rather visible

lol i did it with the barrel i had but my smaller one also reaches that height as well

this is the barrel version
no bottom to it just a good bed of ashes 4 3x2s in criss cross pattern that got the shed wall too hot to touch by hand

Depends how long it took to strip the machine
That would be my favourite option but the machine just won't die.
