I've been struggling this winter to get myself out in the workshop but this weekend I seem to have got my mojo back and actually finished something. Its lit round the edge with 12v led strip lights.

I know I picked the ospreys head up yesterday and started thinking about what to do next. Every year I seem to get a bit down once the clocks go back but this years been a bitch, hopefully the worst is over, cos i've loads more than the osprey and dragon to finish.

I've recently thought of doing an led back lit clock but I dont want a trailing lead to a transformer in the closesy wall plug :-(
Has anyone any suggestions?

yea a decent rechargeable battery behind it

But aren't 12v rechargeable batteries like the sealed lead acid ones in alarm panels etc?

While I was trying different transformers for this I tried a 9v one and they lit up ok and weren't a lot dimmer so you might get away with a rechargeable 9v battery.
