Lathe, to sell or keep and transport???

I'm hoping moving house soon and can't decide whether to sell my Chester Centurian lathe /mill and buy a better lathe later on or keep it and move it.
Hopefully I'll have a bigger workshop after the move (if I get planning permission) so space won't be a problem. I wouldn't mind something like doubleboosts machine size wise and it will do all I want. The Chester does a lot for its size but it can be hit and miss to get a good finish on it, a problem I've had for a long time and haven't fully got to the bottom of. I don't think it's worn out, more of a set up / user problem. I'll obviously need a small milling machine too......

Arrange the new purchase to coincide with the house move and cover the old lathe with a gaudy blanket. Swap the blanket to the new lathe in transit, jobs a good'un.

YOu'll not survive being without a lathe.
So is there enough room for the current machine at the new property? If so then just move it and worry about replacing in it with a better lathe and milling machine once you are settled in the new premises.
If however you are going to need to sort a workshop out first then it makes sence to sell it and then get the tooling for the new workshop once its built.

If you have enough room you'll end up keeping the chester anyway

I've never seen a gaudy blanket big enough to cover a 24" x 120" lathe....

You need to keep it, then buy a bigger one later on. Then when one breaks or needs parts making during a refurb you can fix it with the other one.
If you've been bad in a past life, something evil happens, and they collude with each other and break down at the same time and both need a lathe to make something to get them going again. This explains why I have so many broken motorcycles.

Stick it in storage until your super workshop is finished. I'm in a similar quandary, wifie insisted we have a bathroom and kitchen before I start building the new workshop. Sell tools, I don't think so.....
