Well I have had quite a good day with lathe today. I made some bushes up for a bike kick stand that I am building and I made a tool for removing the swing arm.
I rough cut them down to within 1mm then turned the compound through 45 degrees and then took it down the rest of the way. The finish has come up like polished stainless which I am very pleased with. I just need my kneeling tool to arrive for the grip bit.
The Bushes came up really well although I have a problem with the cam lock on the tail stock not working. As you drill the tailstock slides backwards. Replacement shipped today which is pleasing service.
Chronos are closed until the 2nd so I will get by with the old 1/4" stuff I have been using. Glad I bought the quick change tool post which is height adjustable.
Next on my list is a four jaw chuck and travelling work rest for long pieces as I have to make an axle for a bike.
I can also feel a milling machine coming on.....
