Hi guys, could use some input on getting my lathe situated. The floor is concrete, but where I want to put the lathe is extremely rough and can't be assumed to be horizontal.
The lathe cabinet has some doors which are basically flush with the feet, so at the mo I can't open them due to the roughness of the ground. The weight is also not spread over the 6 foot pads in the structure of the lathe. Consequently it vibrates when running.
Can anyone suggest how to overcome the crap floor and get it sitting solidly and usably?
Lathe is about 1.2 ish tonnes and has bolt down points, but the manual says they're not necessary.
Is there a funky resin or something I can put down and sit it on, or should I use wood bearers etc? Rubber matting? Carpet!?
Cheers, Al.
