Hi all,
I'm new to the forum and unfortunately my first question doesn't relate to welding.
I've just acquired a nearly complete Harrison Union screwcutting lathe. Apart from some head scratching that'll be required to put the gears back together my main problem is that I'm lacking drive components between the lathe and the motor. The lathe headstock takes a leather flat belt, but the motor I've got is equipped with a pulley designed for a v belt. Having had a quick look around on Ebay it doesn't look like it'll be easy to find a flat belt pulley for sale. It also looks like a non starter to convert the headstock to take v belts.
So in essence my question is, what should I do? Does anyone know where I could get hold of a flat belt pulley or a means of adapting the headstock of my lathe to take v belts?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Zach
