Bearing in mind I'm new to lathes .. I've two questions regarding my chucks, a 3 jar and four jaw..
On the 3 jaw when I fit the key and turn it all 3 jaws move in and out together... but on the four jaw they move individually, obv this makes it difficult to centre anything in its 4 jaws, can anyone tell me what's its purpose please..
Also on the 3 jaw I've noticed each jaw has steps on the jaws does this mean they can be taken out and flipped over so you can use them the other way round for larger stock? I realise each jaw is numbered and needs to be fitted into its own channel..
The lathe is a Warco SB20-1
4 jaws individual jaws? Below
3 jaw with steps...
No markings on chucks apart from this planet symbol...
