Lathe Bits (not all buyers are bad!)

Won these items on Ebay last Friday for the grand total of £10.50.
Still bargains to be had if you look long enough.

Collected them today but I couldn't in right conscience not hand over a bit more cash.
Gave the chap an extra £40 notes.
Still a good haul for £50.

All the chucks have a large threaded mount, the 3 jaw is cast in so I will machine it off to fit a D1-8 mounting plate.

The 2 four jaws have a back plate so will be easy to swap over.

I have some Citric acid to pop all the bits for a clean up.



The steady is 7.5" centre height so matches my small lathe. Looks like it wont take much to adapt it to fit:

Never in a million years do deals like that appear local to me. And I search eBay every day!

I couldn't even get a fixed steady for 50 quid and I tried!

On Ebay mate, badly listed with poor pics.

3 bids and ended at £10.50.

Not exactly local, I had to run down to Salisbury which is about 65 miles of A roads.

Worth it though.

Yep it’s the poorly listed ones to look out for. I get some crackers sometimes especially with fishing gear. Some people simply don’t know what they have and chuck up some random listing stating “fish rod”.
Last one I won was mint diawa power mesh from the 90’s for a shade over £15.
One of the most sought after barbel rods of today. Listed properly would of fetched over £100 easy maybe more.
Another good one is the categories. After you search change the default and Set it to ‘any’ and you’ll be surprised how many people have listed a welder in a completely unrelated category and most will miss it.
