Not sure how they managed to do this to 100kg of kit? Was still attached to the remains of a pallet

Whatever hit it must have some serious damage, unless its been dropped from a great height?

They are denying liability, its only £4k so whats the harm?

And people wonder why couriers have a bad name?

Its a heat pump, 1 strapped to a full size pallet. To be fair we ship hundreds but every now and then one is damaged, this is the first one to be destroyed.

You must of damaged it after they dropped it.

Strapped to a proper pallet, maybe blocked in with woods, then surrounded by pallet collars, plywood sheet top screwed on, strapped over the top.

Thats just to protect the paint, the feet go into blocks on the pallet, 2 proper straps and its one to a full size pallet so plenty of space

was following a luton van yesterday and could see in the back was possibly a tall larder fridge. every time he went left it fell over and hit something went right and it stood back up hitting the sidewall of van. this happened 12 times it wasnt even strapped in

My sisters boy friend was a delivery driver

the daily challenge was to see how much stuff they could wreck.

best mate has a delivery franchise with a well known company. I’ve see how they load deliveries.

it’s all good with the routing wagon, walking floor and conveyors

then the pitch fork comes out and shot put practice starts

Double boxed but the idiots stuck the box inside a bigger box then shoved brown paper down the side and on top so it didn't slide around.

Defeats the point of double boxing.


There's a crease in the outer box.

My guess. Someone kicked it. Looks very much like a toe.


Thankfully there wasnt anything under that point. Just air and a paper manual.

tell me about, years ago I had a pelican case shipped from Shetland to MK. Very clearly it had the shape of FLT tines that had punctured the case. They denied all knowledge

one of mine as delivered by ups. The 5th in a week that they lost, destroyed or damaged.
now they are unable to comprehend why I have cancelled the direct debit !

I did a short time at royalmail and few days at tnt. That taught me how things need to be packaged..

It looks like something heavy was put on top, but its got a nice flat surface for another heavy pallet. Where else are they supposed to put them Somone on here mentioned, if you put a cardboard cone and then that wont happen.

If you build a strong wooden frame around it then they *will* stack pallets on top, probably a few if yours is strongest it will be at the bottom, so it needs to be a pointy triangular frame.

The company ships a lot of expensive bits around the world - the box usually arrives in perfect nick - I opened one and discovered some clown in stores/dispatch put 20 off precision machined components in a plastic bag, put the bag in a box, packed the box very well and protected inside another box . . . by the time they made it to me in Houston (should've specified "air-ride"!) there wasn't much precision about the components . . .

With all the stuff we ship, not a lot gets damaged by the courier/transport. Sometimes lost. Usually just late. But I do sometimes wonder if any of our dispatch people ever get any training how to protect stuff.

We hold central spares for a lot of plants in Europe and even further afield with the promise of urgent delivery - not sure how Brexit impacted that - I must remember to ask tomorrow.

I was following a van & trailer down a bumpy & twisty B road with somebodies brand new washing machine bouncing & rolling around in the trailer unsecured!

I was in a freight hauling Company and a full length joint of 5"or 6" pipe needed unloaded. The assigned basher (not driver) put 1 fork in the pipe then found out He did not have enough room to back straight out and turn. He just backed out 3/4 of the way and rammed the side of the pipe into the bollard till it bent a foot or 2.
