it could if the roof weight spreads them out and cracks

Cheers Gaz, always appreciate your input, I was hoping to hear something along those lines..
To be fair the bungalow seems a solid build otherwise, still got to fix the boiler expansion vessel, had two plumbers/heating engineers look at it.. Didn't get back to me after promising a price.
I guess not enough in it for them.. Not nice hanging around waiting for them to get back though..

nothing new there. they havent the balls or decency to just tell you they dont want the job or there 2 busy then you could get someone else

I think what didn't help was me spouting all the knowledge that I have been given off here, I just wanted a vessel hanging of the bottom really, but there was lots of teeth sucking, boilers got to come off the wall mate, these are a nightmare type comments.
I just think they want to fit boilers.

I'll get a builder in and totally rebuild any walls with cracks in, best be safe, eh.

Is it a solid concrete / screed floor?

If so that sort of cracking can often be caused by the polythene membrane being lapped over the wall from each side and the DPC being put on top.

This means three layers of crumpled plastic that isn't compressed very well by the wet pug, the wall shrinks as it dries making the gap wider. Then over the years the lower course drops down, because the pug is weak and there's your crack.

I've also seen cracking just like that caused by brickies laying the BPC on ice and building a block wall on top. Yep I saw them doing it, and I got to to fix it a couple of years later when the house owner asked me what the problem could be.
