I have been meaning to post a picture of the press for a while, Today i was in the garage across the road and snapped it for anyone interested in a big old press it is interesting, It came from the Villiers works just down the road after it was sold off.

Nice, judging by the drums its got to be about 3 foot wide internally

Yes that is probably not far off as it was over 6 feet tall

Mr Better you would probably appreciate this old girl, 1940`s 65 ton press and still in use, like all the old gear its built to last

I used up have one, they sure can squeeze!
Downside are the old school seals

You don't need that old thing cluttering up you new gaff. I think you need to send it down the road to me. Lol

I have the steel ready to build one similar in design...just need to work out if my mig is up to welding it or if i need to learn stick. Lol

No joke it is 2 big for my garage even with a bit added on, But it is just over the road and the owner is a mate so i am sure i can nip across and use it which is almost like owning it with non of the hassle

One of the best workshop presses ever built (IMHO), hand winch to raise/lower the bed with a two speed hand pump.

I wish I could find one at a sensible price, my present 20 ton English built press would be out the door pronto.
