If this isn't the right spot for this, please let me know (or can the mods move it?)
I figured there'd be a good selection of oppinions and experience here, My laptop is getting a bit old and temperemental so I'm begining to look at replacement options. I've always been Windows as I figured it was the least worsed option, currently I have a Lenovo Thinkpad which as served me well.
A firend of mine has always been a Mac fan and is trying to convince me that the extra cost is worth it for the quality and long life of them and the fact that he's had a lot less issues with one macbook than hes had with dozens of work Windows laptops.
What are peoples oppinions and experience on here? Do I stick with what I know, if so any recomendations? I really have no idea what is good bad or indifferent anymore.
Or do I make the leap to the dark side? If I defect to a Mac, the Macbook Air is looking favourte, although I have read there might be a 14" version being released soon.
Main use is watching films, surfing the internet, Word and Excel docs and a bit of AutoCAD/Inventor & 3d printer thrown in. None of which is for buisiness perposes, only personal use.
The latter though would make me lean to sticking with Windows.
The other issue is that I travel a lot now with work so although a larger screen (currently on a 15.6") would be nice for watching films on, a larger screen means bigger and heavier which I'd like to avoid. Whatever I go for needs to be able to handle life in and out of a rucksack through airports etc.
Thanks in advance
