I did the same and ended up with one a couple of generations newer as they couldn't replace 'like for like'.Ours did, we got a new laptop instead of a repair.
all of mine come from ebay new copy ones and original graded where they scraped the laptop for what ever reason they have all be goodMost of what I do is under warrenty so direct from manufacturer or suppliers i dont get involved in that , but I ask my friend and he has bought a few screens from that site with no issues . He runs a small PC repair shop and if there was a reliability issue people would be back like a shot. He said Ebay is a good source too there are some big laptop breakers on there most have great feedback and they are all tested
My ThinkPad screen died, just out of warranty
Local shop did it, despite being an odd fellow it was quick and reasonably priced, was a few years ago, a 17" 1080 screen
I prefer that type of screen anyway especially when Im surfing at work !all of mine come from ebay new copy ones and original graded where they scraped the laptop for what ever reason they have all be good
ive not done 100s but a fair few ive not noticed much from the cheap screens to the genuine apart from the viewing angle and lets face it when using a laptop you sit in frount of it so viewing from the side rarely happens
geniusparts.co.uk

normaly there are some have slight differances matt screen glossy then theres the resolution differances (normaly nothing but refresh mostly)I think KL.15605.084 is Acers part number, B156HAN02.1 is AU's number. Seems there are many compatable parts.
its up and running and useable if it hapens to a phone, laptop etc if it can be used after and the cost is not that high if you get to that point its a WINThanks all for the help and advice. I've had the new screen (from accupart ebay) for a week and thought I should get it fitted, so that 3d printing can be resumed!
All went quite smoothely. Quality is good, matt screen and good viewing angle. The only thing I would say is I dont think it goes as bright as the original, but I havent yet compared (we have another of the same laptop).
