landy bulkhead

as anyone on here built a bulkhead for a landy from scratch?
if so can you pls put some pics or dims.
its for a hybrid we are building with my scout group.

I know it's been done, have you tried any of the Landrover forums? LR4x4 would be a good place to start.

Hi are you doing series style or defender?
As i may be able to let you have one that requires some welding for next to nothing. You could use it as a template or modify to suit your needs?

its got a defender 90 rear tub and seat box with series front wings and defender doors.
kids are wantng to build one after the series one that someone gave us fell apart getting it out of trailer.
they want to learn to weld as well

I haven't yet, but do intend on making one.
I roughly sketched it but need to take the lappy out and check all the dimensions and angles, they are as right as I could get them in the dark while the landy was in one piece[hence the panels not touching]. I hope to start on it in a few months. My bulkhead is so rotten it's amazing the screen is still in place...

If it's a series why not get a defender bulkhead, a few years ago a new bulkhead was £180. The parts man who gave us the price said he was selling them to people with series landy's, they fit with a few tweeks.

you might have to hunt blue as we havent done anything for a while but am starting again now its warmer/ lighter.

£180 is well out of reach for us.
we have been given 8m of 100x50x2.5mm box and 3 8ftx4ft sheets of 1.6mm so its only costing welding wire/arc rods which i have a load of anyway.

If you can get up this way your welcome to have a look.
My family runs a scrap yard and i'm sure we can donate some parts.
We have broke a few landrover vehicles so we may have some other parts you may need.

graffian, unless your going to make a production run of them, lightweight ones are not worth making from sctatch as there a doodle to repair. There's plenty of repair panels for them, best to start with an old one and sort it out.
