Landrover Discovery inner wings

I've been a member of the forum for some time now but never needed to post any questions as searching the forum as always answered any queries.
so firstly Hello, I was wondering how difficult it is to replace the inner wings on a Disco, I've not done very much welding and would only class myself as a novice and this would probaly be the first major structural work I've done,any tips would be greatfully taken on board. Forgot to mention the inner wings would be the pre cut ones bought from YRM.

you might find you will need to do more welding to the bulkhead near the inner wings also are you getting the inners with the chassis mounting near the head lamps or just the repair bits that you need to weld together

I've just had a look on the YRM website and it doesn't show the chassis mounting bracket in the photo nor does it mention it in the description all it says is complete inner wing repair panel it also fails to mention wether it comes assembled or in kit form.

Probably worth doing at the same time as they're cheap enough an mine look the worst for wear.

you have to weld the new inner wing together it's not a complete item
only some is welded

you can request YRM to send the inner wing fully assembled, at extra cost of course! I got a quote of £250 for full inner wing including headlamp box fully assembled plus £50 postage which was the same if it had been un-assembled!

Cheers octo gunna give it a go, can't be no worse than it all ready is.

Just make sure you take measurements so it all aligns. Very important if you replace the whole inner wing.

If you look in the workshop section on the YRM website that is my Disco that they show the inner wing replacement on.

They saw the photos on THIS thread on Landyzone which has a lot more detail of the process I followed.

Robp, you have a good thread over there on LandieZone, I found it interesting comparing the inner wing and front end structure to that of my 75 Rangie. Totally off topic but can I ask if that is a transmission oil cooler or is it for the engine oil. I want to add a oil cooler to mine as it has a tendency to fry it's oil when the going gets a bit too slow and muddy, as I have the front end in bits now would be the time to fit appropriate brackets.
