They both have their merits. I hve a 200tdi in the 110, a TD5 in the D2 and the v6 in the D3and unfortunately i actually quite like the td5 engine sorry 300 fans.
no not genuine, but good quality. the seats were clean. i have debated a new filter housing for a while as the old one is showing a bit of corrosion.
Or a Renault b120 if you can find one. Excellent trucks, mostly iveco underneath. The slightly bigger Iveco 4x4 `s are good if you have a 7.5ton entitlement on your license. Still transit size but with a decent payload and pull like a train.

I had one, never got used enough because of the young lads license issue. Good trucks

Believe me when I tell you they could outwork most blokes.
Fair bit of ground clearance with those shoes 8ob,

IIRC, from an MOT perspective, the emissions requirements go with the motor regardless of the year of the vehicle. Certainly was the case when a mate dropped a 1960s V8 petrol motor in a modernish diesel van.Not sure if you'd be able to drop a 300 into a Td5 (legally) unless you can get it to meet emissions if its a Td5 era vehicle.
Any td5 aged landy will be a 'blow less than 3.5 and you're good' emissions check. My '87 Renault master goes through on a fast pass it is so clean off boost, I doubt you'll have any issue getting a 300tdi through. Not sure if you'd be able to drop a 300 into a Td5 (legally) unless you can get it to meet emissions if its a Td5 era vehicle.
If the 110 does what you want and it's purely a reliability issue then I'd say better the devil you know. By the time you've bought another vehicle and sorted any potential issues you'd have a well sorted vehicle that's not going to go down in value for the same money. Until the government outlaws them you'll always have a market for spare parts.
Also most 300s will be long in the tooth these days although they're easy enough to sort out. But the same can be said of Td5s but they are a more modern engine and easily tunable for extra poke. I have a friend with an auto Td5 90 and that thing flies.
You also have plenty of options for upgrades if you fancied.
Could put a cummins in it....
Be careful who has built it, there’s one particularly famous cowboy still turning them outthat would be a dream truck, there was a flat bed up for sale 6bt very tidy build but i think it was north of £30k
Nor I, would have to be a bloody idiotI dont know anyone that would do such a thing
