land rover sound system upgrade suggestions please

as all of you who own landrovers will know the speakers are pretty crap

im looking at upgrading them probably with a decent sub as well

any reccommendations for a decent radio, speakers and sub

also do you think it would be worth putting in a amp and or a tweeter

ive got a couple of 6x9s in the back of me 90, screwed to the lining.

there prety battered now because of all the logs ive had stacked to the roof

a good radio drowns the tyre/engine/gearbox/suspension/annoying passenger/body/any other random noises

i lined the back of mine out we 1/4"ply and 2"kingspan behind it.

really cuts the noise down, and great for keeping the heat in, even better for sleeping in when i go green laning.

If your going to fit a sub you'll need an amp to run it either as a active sub kit which will have a built in amp or a passive sub which would need a separate amp.

If you want a sub the radio would need to have the capability to control it - from memory that would be an RCA connector as well as a pair of phono outputs.

Some component speakers do come with separate tweeters although they aren't essential.

6x9 speakers in the tub, behind the bench seats, work pretty well for me, along with 100mm ish co-ax speakers in the headlining.
