Just a phone picture of part of a scooter I bought and am trying to resurrect. Li150 series 3 the footboards were completely gone so I cut them off and am putting some new metal in It seems to be working so far, plenty of filling and rubbing to be done yet.

you can get hold of new foot boards for them i had a mate that restored them for a living

I've only seen complete ones at about £200 and rear ones which are about £40. This is just to see what I can get them looking like but from the front when they are fitted with the horn cast and the mudguard you only see about 2" of the repaired area. If a footboard repair panel is available it would be handy to know about.

I've found some rubber floor mats for £19.49 so they will cover a multitude of sins beats paying out 200 notes any day.

How's the Lambretta project coming along, just finished a SX 200 lookalike based on a 1965 Li 150 frame

It's all in bits in the shed. I did a bit more welding on the frame where the sidepanel channnel had rusted away and it's filled now ready for primer. The front legshield looks half decent now in primer and I have the horncast and front mudguard to rub down ready for priming. New rear legshield support welded on and frame blasted ready for primer as well.

While you've got it in bits I always find it worthwhile to weld a couple of short lengths of tube in the crossmember where the bolts go through for the stand brackets, it stops you deforming the crossmember when you tighten up the stand bolts

Due to doing loads of work on house this year have hardly done any rallies apart from IOW.

Looking forward to getting out a lot more next year, most of my mates have been doing the LCGB stuff this year which they say have all been cracking do's

Struggle to get out on an evening due to kids etc... so it tends to just be weekends

Do enjoy the LCGB do's. One of my fave's is Darlington's Cumby Arms do, even though I had a nightmare getting there this year.

I got a gasket set in the post today and also bought a 12 volt conversion and cdi to do away with the points system. I want some crank seals and bearings and some rings for next process when I start on the engine but I am keeping it in standard tune. This is a glimpse of how rusty it was.

Wow, looks like it has been in a pond for the last 50 years, is it just surface rust or is there some corrosion as well
Have you sourced your bearings and seals yet, I got a set from my local industrial bearings supplier, exactly the same as from a scooter shop but around 30% cheaper

As you can see mine wasn't in too bad shape

It's blasted up pretty well with just a few bits that disappeared completely I am in the process of cleaning the engine up before I strip it.

I've not done much in the way of building up lately due to cold and having shingles . I bought some bits for the front forks the other day and just got round to attaching the front shock absorber brackets to the fork legs so I thought it might be an idea to take a picture seeing as it's welding Everything is in primer or Zinc 182 at the moment.

I just thought I'd come back to this, I've built it up and got it running but I have to sort some side panels and the carb needs a bit of work. It's been a nice project so far, some head scratching and language but all in all quite absorbing.
