Good going! I expect we will be out keeping foxes off the sheep soon
Triplets are fairly common but normally one of the lambs gets taken off and put with a new mother. Don’t hear of quads very often. How common are sheep quads ?
Yes that does workIs it true that to get a new mother to except an orphan sibling you take the pelt off a dead lamb that belonged to the mother put it on the orphan to convince her that the orphan is hers?

A lamb taken from a set of triplets is often placed underneath another lamb, as the ewe is pushing it out, so that it's covered in the mucus and fluid that accompanies the birth. Is it true that to get a new mother to except an orphan sibling you take the pelt off a dead lamb that belonged to the mother put it on the orphan to convince her that the orphan is hers?

an the other half to a vet i can safely say... they are a special breed!A vet i know did lambing training on a farm in Yorkshire with a bunch of veterinary students, Apparently "afterbirth fights" were a means of amusing themselves!
