L200 engine check light

L200 2005 2.5 TD

Light came on today leaving B&Q car park. Drove home (11 miles) without any apparent issues. Not down on power or anything as far as I can tell. No unusual noises.

Bit of searching and apparently my bluetooth ODB plug and phone app wont cut it.
Seen something about flashing lights to give codes, but so far not found a decent method outside of Facebook nonsense.

Anything most likely?

Easy fix hopefully....

Yes u can earth one of the pins and count the flashes. It is mut 3 not obd

To read K74 codes short pins 1 to 4 or 1 to earth of the OBD port with a bit of wire and the engine management and ABS lights will flash codes.

Long Flashes = 10s.............. Short Flashes = 1s

If the above-mentioned diagnosis codes code number with the asterisk can be displayed along with another code number in the parentheses simultaneously check the other code number before replacing the ECU (Thats what the service info says!)
