Other than buying trousers with built-in pockets for knee pads, what it the trick of getting the ***s to stay in place. I've got two pairs, one with friction straps and one with velcro straps and neither will stay in place.
I'd also be interested in a recommendations of a decent pair that stay in place, got three sets and they are all rubbish, I'd come to the conclusion the trousers with built in pockets would be the answer. I've got small knees also which dont help.
I find the problem is the ones with two straps. I have some light duty Makita ones that have one strap and they always stay in place. They are really comfortable as long as you are not kneeling completely (with your **** on your heels).
Can you not use a kneeling pad if the knee pads slide down.
I just use inbuilt trousers now with snickers knee pads that have a inbuilt memory type foam. I got fed up with the straps cutting the back of my knees
Use knee pads a lot on pipelines, the best ones for Me are the accordion style knee pads with rubber straps but the light foam ones with heavy duty elastic are also good, the worst ones I have used are the cloth padded ones with plastic protector on the outside, the ones you fit inside trousers are good but wreck you trousers/coveralls if on concrete/rough ground
I use these and have done for 40 years...check my username Anyway miners knee pads they are and the best out there,we only use the bottom strap tight and the top strap loose to stop them falling out forward....I cinch the bottom strap tight above my calf muscle and stops them sliding down,if you have no calf muscle then work with me for a year and that should cure that problem
