Kity 419 motor starting issues - capacitor?

My reliable little Kity 419 table saw has stopped working (Well almost)

I was a little heavy with a cut and the motor stalled, since when it won't now operate unless it's given a bit of a 'bump start with a biit of wood' to spin it over when switched on.
I haven't started to disassemble yet the frame/covers yet to see it, but I'm led to believe it's an induction motor (240v single phase)

Is it likely to be a capacitor issue, or something else, slightly more terminal?

If it has a centrifugal switch, then under stall conditions the start cap might get a little hot and bothered.

I have the same saw and thw motor is very easy to access. Could.be the capacitor, try turning o the saw whilst flicking the blade round with a piece of wood. This will give you an idea if the motor is completely knackered.

Thanks that is exactly what happens- I can flick it and it runs fine.
I imagine I get to the motor by removing from the stand?

Yes it's just an open tin box from the bottom

I'm trying to avoid disassembly until I have the parts, as I use the thing every day!
Order now in, should arrive tomorrow.

Update to say for less than £10 and 15 minutes I have my saw back. It looks as if this was indeed the culprit..
