Now the kitchen is pretty much finished it's time to do the fun stuff and make a table for it.
I've been asking for advice in the other sections so thanks all for your input so far.
We wanted to make a stainless table with a walnut top but at the wood yard this weekend I was put off by the walnut (price, cuts and not native) so we went for some ash instead (I know completely different).
The design is based on something my misses had seen and liked on Pinterest.
I managed to find a mate with a band saw to help me make decent cuts, this was after blunting the new disc in his cold saw ( I don't think it liked stainless and the coolant pump wasn't very reliable).
So got some nice mitres but had to go back and re cut the top as this didn't sit flush and ended up with a 5mm reveal at one end.
Before setting off with the welder I had a bit of a practice with some of the off cuts. I think my consistency left a little to be desired.
So I decided to get cracking and ended up with this.
I'm pretty chuffed with how the welds have turned out and I'm looking forward to welding up the other end and getting the top sorted. My deadline is Christmas dinner.
