They certainly have some clever solutions to avoid wasting storage space, the shelves pivot out so you can access stuff normally out of reach in a corner unit.

I fitted those when I installed our kitchen, I think they're called Le Mans units.

Looking under the sink, I'm not sure that socket should be there ?

no regulations saying you cant .the washing machine will be plugged in to it to enable isolation without pulling it out . it will be rcd protected as well

Mrs Robo's parents had the kitchen extended in the 80's, the plans from the time with the original kitchen marked in red and the WC was a pantry off the kitchen.

When Mrs Robo got her NHS pension she took the option of a lump sum and reduced pension and planned to use the lump sum to get the kitchen re-furbed.

After doing the rounds of fitted kitchen suppliers we settled on Howdens and after measuring up produced a plan and an illustration of the finished product.

A few pics of the 30 odd year old kitchen.

The first pic shows the original lounge window to the outside which should have been removed but Mrs Robo's parents fell out with the builders after the new roof started leaking as soon as it was fitted so they had to get a roofer in to sort it and deduct the money from the builder who responded by leaving the extension unfinished.

Mrs Robo's parents were smokers and so was she until she packed it in over 10 years ago, I stopped about 8 years ago.
We close all the doors when away on hols and I noticed this year one room still had a slight nicotine smell after a week of still air.

We like to know where our women are at all times. Put in another room and they might get ideas about foreign travel.

& washing up bowls in the sink eh? That really used to irk the Kiwis I knew.

I am surprised at that, being that you are not allowed such things in a bathroom, or are you nowadays, with the advent of the RCD ?

When I did ours, which is not in a cupboard with the plumbing, I used one of those covered outdoor sockets.

They often are. This one irked me. Top notch cabinets and they butchered them for a start

Securing the back box, filling and replacing the socket was fun give my not insubstantial frame and broad shoulders:

Also, ladies are good at multi tasking, so its helpful for them, as it enables them to cook, wash up, and do the laundry all at the same time. I am sure they are grateful for the consideration, but they never seem to voice that gratitude, so if you are type of guy that thrives on compliments, you will be disappointed.

Oh Jeez.

Easier to bring the cables into the back of the unit and mount a couple of surface-fix boxes.

Here's one i did recently. I try to keep the copper out of the way of the shelf then there are minimum nasty cut-outs to do.
I do all my own plumbing and electrics
