I’ve got a shaft 58” long, with 4 keyways.
One at each end (in-line with each other) and two roughly 1/3 of the way in from each end, also inline with each other, but 180° rotation from the two at the ends.
I’ve watched a few videos of people using clamp on devices and one of abom using a planer gauge but I have neither.
I did consider using a v block, clamping it to the shaft parallel with the table and indicating it flat, cut my first keyway, spin the shaft 180 and indicate it again, then cut the second keyway. Then repeat at the opposite end. I think this would work.
