Now for the Confession.
I was working in the wind and the rain, and with limited mental capacity such as I was born with and armed with a tool box mostly containing hammer, I may have made a mistake.
Now the pulley center is cast, something like a g3000/4000. The one thing we all know about Cast material is they love to be both hit with hammers and they are highly sprung.
The end of the shaft is still slightly bigger than 24mm and has to stay that way for the retaining clip, so with all the patience of a rhino with hemorrhoids, I carefully shoved on the center using a hammer to gently tappy tap tap it into the shaft, it was very close to going on, what could go wrong? Surprisingly it snapped the center, I mean who would have guessed it??.
So now it is on in two pieces using the keyway, but working fine as it's all trapped in as tight as Yorkshiremans wallet and the grub screw and keyway slot are in the same half. But I am going to stand on the other side of the machine when I next use it. It should be fine.
