key broken off inignition

Has anyone got any handy tips to extracate a bit of key broken off in the ignition barrel of my mates fiat punto? The key is broken off several mm down into the slot so cant be nipped at with pliers.

try gas welding nozzle cleaners....screw down the side then lift.......will probably take a few goes ,but i have seen it done .....

if you take the barrel out (if possible, usually is) you should be abe to poke it out from the back, if not take it to a locksmith, should only cost a few quid.

if you can still turn the ignition on you should turn it to the first position then remove the cowling and there should be a small hole to push in a screwdirver or similar then you can pull out the barrel with the key in it and replace the full barrel if all else fails but dont try with it in place or you will have to drill out the barrel it becomes wrecked
once you get the barrel out you could try tapping it onthe floor but dont forget to return it to the locked position first

drill it out, hammer in an eye bolt, welt it in place and then pull it out via a chain block onto the door pillar

or do as i did in my sportrak and put a dab of oober glue on the end of the key and pop it in the ignition, wait five and slowly pull it out....

Put a bend in the end of a big paperclip, so that there is about 1mm bent over at the end.
Put it in the lock above the key, push it in to just over the length of the key while avoiding touching the key, so u dont push it deeper.
Bring the bent bit down on to the end of the key then try and drag it back.
Between pulls, lift the hook up of the key, so you don't push the key back again.
