50a pull on 250a on the mig?? but nah im moving to 3 phase bud but thanks for that info.. i wonder what the 3 phase model on that paton requires

The training center I went to, for 6 months used the Kemppi 323r its more basic version than A adaptive one.
But we used these regularly over 30v for spray and lower for short circuit.
They were there for years before I went there, and our trainer said they we're reliable.
The Esab beware of the made in China ones.
Stel are a great mig welder (made in Italy) I have a 220 amp unit. It'll even do spray as long as you have Argo Shield light or similar gas mix.
If you're using it a lot I would go for an EU made welder, sold by a welding supplier that's at least based in your own country.
Its hard to overstate how valuable it is to have a company provide support and deal with any warranty claims for you.

If you are using it a lot/industrial and need it daily then local welding suppliers every time.
You'll pay more than anything on the Internet but my local guy is only 40mins away and if I had a problem with a machine he had sold me he'd have a loan machine set up and ready to use by the time I had driven to his place.
Or drop off & collect twice a week.
Some nifty features on some of the esab machines and good value for money. If it's a heavy used machine (of any brand) write the cost off over whatever the warranty period is and buy locally.
I think most of the guys on here can probably cope for a week without a welder so the 5-day turnaround on an r-tech with a 5yr warranty (extendable?) would probably do nicely
