Hes moving workshops and is asking for donations.

Not sure I agree with it as its effectively getting people to fund a business move

I don’t really like the idea of it.
Perhaps my pride wouldn’t let me but from a business point of view if you need a go fund me to move how are you paying the rent.

Abom79 makes enough patron money to give up work and have fun but it might backfire as he doesn’t do big machine videos anymore just home shop stuff rtc

Ave said he’d never give up his career for YouTube as nothing is forever and its not like metal work makes life changing money like the lifestyle lot

It’s begging if you ask me.

If you make money from sponsor and advertising great. But your viewers are your pay check, don’t start asking them for money!

On abom videos he has support this channel coming up.
When he fitted in filming around work I saw patron as a Thankyou and donating to hardware and software involved.
By giving up work and buying a big caravan thing and building a shed for stuff to resell hes lot on how much he makes.
As I said he’s actively asking for money but content has gone

Same hear I haven't watched an Abom video for months, to much travel and bbq's not enough big machining.
It's ok to ask for funding when you have a full-time job and your content takes you away from earning and eats up your free time. But I personally don't see why someone else should support what is your new lifestyle.

A lot of the yank sites are getting a bit tedious. Keith Fenner with his loyal oath annoys me, Abom, as already said has become boring, and even Keth Rucker gets my goat on ocassion with his incessant repetition. However, he does still have the odd good project such as the stoking engine that he's currently rebuilding. Dave Richards and his steam workshop, Brian Block and AvE are the three that I watch the most on that side of the water.

Directly they start begging they loose my respect, thought Fenner was better than that TBH.

It is a difficult one, with the amount of subscribers some of them have even if they got 50p off every one of them they'd be minted.

I think the thing you like about a channel to start with is the reason you get bored of it because it's the same old same old. I've seen a few channels start bowing to the dollars. I used to like Wranglerstar but I bored when he started doing the "Bought the cheapest on Amazon stuff" and pushing his religeous agenda.

I've been watching Goonzquad for quite a while now and I like the fact the videos are 20-25 mins, they are tackling loads of different stuff. I like Mustie1 too but his vidoes are often an hour. They aren't engineering channels though.

I only follow @doubleboost on YouTube now.

Different content every week, shows the odd muck ups and the thought process, no begging, gives decent gear away to viewers.

I enjoy the steam stuff, the sentinel, really liked the caving videos.

Doubleboost is a good guy, id watch him more if there was subtitles

Keith Rucker is a good guy but he blocked me after I caught him reselling a viewer gift
