Yes, that can be the problem with renting. I was getting absolutely ripped off by Air Products so ended up going the rent free route but I tried BOC and without asking got a good price, or at least for me it is a good price, no doubt others will get much better. Will stick a gauge on the bottle and see what’s in there. The problem I have is there are a few boc co2 bottles scattered around the place on different mig sets, each bottle only gets swapped a couple of times a year so each one has its own annual rent plus fill charge , on top of this goes the bottle handling charge per transaction an the admin charge. I need to sit down with a calculator and work this out on two changes a year.

The big problem with trying to compare is everyone just quotes the capacity of the cylinder (*** L) and without stating the fill pressure then it is basically meaningless.
........(with sabregas you dont pay a deposit like some rent free places
you pay a 10year right to use.)
It definitely needs to be worked out on what you expect to use, Hobby gas, SGS, Adams or whatever may well be the best option.I got quite a shock when comparing hobby weld prices on rent free and the price of the parent companies on rental I think I will be going down the rental route again soon I have had rentals in the past with boc and air products
How does that work? Is there a charge on top of the initial fill price for the 10 year right to use or is that included and each time you refill it gives you 10 years use from then?
@Hood most definably it all boils down to the amount you use a have used more than I have done in the past over the last 12 months especially argon since buying the tig and when I priced things up the contract certainly looked the better deal and I believe the one I looked at only ties me in for 3 months I can still collect it from the same place as the hobby weld bottles I use so it looks good to meIt definitely needs to be worked out on what you expect to use, Hobby gas, SGS, Adams or whatever may well be the best option.
