I just picked up my welder yesterday (2nd hand clarke 151en) so as to begin patching up the big rusty holes in my car, I figured it would be better to buy a welder and learn how to do the work myself than pay someone else to do it, and a useful skill learnt
So yeah it came with about a third of a roll of gas-less wire left inside it and a full roll or normal wire, the gas-less wire is now all gone from me badly welding bits of scrap to each other and burning holes in an old car door
Basically I never intended to use the gas-less wire but figured as its there it would be good practice, now I want to get started with gas but don't really know what the best thing to do is.. it came with a regulator for using disposable bottles but they are mad expensive and I guess you need a different reg for using big bottles? also people mention using pub bottles.. is that a different reg again? also the pipe coming out of the machine seems a bit thin or is that just me being a n00b? would it need upgrading to use big bottles?
Cheers
Rob
