I have just bought an air fed mask to enable me to spray 2K paint. The mask comes with a carbon filter on the belt. There is also an air take off on the belt unit to feed the spray gun so I am only dragging on hose around.
Am I correct in thinking that I need a coalescing filter as well as the carbon filter?
The adverts I have looked at for coalescing filters mention things like auto draining but do not mention replacement filter elements. Does that mean that there filters don't need changing?
When spraying I normally set the pressure using the regulator at my wall point. My larger spray gun has a regulator on it that I just use as a gauge. I don't use one on the small gun as they get in the way when in tight spaces.
The instructions for the air fed mask talk in terms of setting the wall regulator at pressures such as 4.3 bar depending on the hose length. That is far higher than I use for spraying. I am considering putting a regulator on the spray gun outlet from the belt carbon filter housing rather than on the gun.
I have used ones a bit like this in the past :- Mini Air Pressure Regulator Gauge Val ve 1/4" Relief Paint Spray Gun Tool J1G0 | eBay rightly or wrongly I don't have a great deal of faith in them which is why I started doing all my adjustment at my wall regulator and just using the gun one as a gauge. Can anyone recommend one that works well?
