Just a little chopper

Hi

When I was sixteen I had the smallest Chopper, but it did get a lot of attention.
Not all good a big guy on a 750cc chopper started hitting me with a chain one day when sat at a set of lights on it, I dont think he liked it !
Have to say love my Puch so much more.

Yes it was a Fantic 50cc they also sold it with a 125cc engine.

Recall one of the Italian producers doing a chopper around 76 to 78.
Me i had the even rarer Gilera Enduro when i was 14.

It was a L reg 1972 or 73 Fantic chopper thats how they came out of the factory 50cc or 125cc even had pedals on the 50cc one

Yes I know Just sat at the lights and wack and he just rode on Now if I had of caught up with him that would have been a miracle the fantic did about 32 mph and I would **** my pants he was BIG BIG BIG

The quick moped to have in the 70's was the Kriedler (sp) but not being adventurous I went for a run of the mill Suzuki when I was 16

I have just been given some old photos and yes one of my old Fantic chopper.
Now them was the days when after tea in the middle of winter your Mum would let you bring your bike into a nice warm kitchen and strip the engine down just for fun.
Try asking the wife if you can

Get round the problem by simply avoiding having a wife

I used to keep my first bike in the kitchen of my desperate hole of a flat; my mate used to have a Kawasaki z900 in his dining room until the centrestand eventually went through the floorboards. My g/f's Kawasaki Eliminator 125 lived in my hall for 6 months whilst she was in a rented house.
Times change: mate's z900 now shares a barn with his '76 Lotus Elite, Porsche 911, Fireblade and FZX750 while Nursy's Eliminator snuggles up to my ST1300 alongside the TVR
The flat still looks like a desperate hole whenever I drive past it, however...

I remember repairing a Lambretta kick start with the crank case on the kitchen cabinet and getting told off for leaving ST90 all over the place. To be fair I did put a bit of newspaper down first.

iv rebuilt carbs in those deep pyrex dishes before including leaving them to soak.

I must have done a good job though as my missus said "well done steven"
