hugely impressed, way past anything I could do, although the ratan(?) or what ever in the wings might look better if replaced with the type of metal mesh you get in car grilles , just think it would be more in keeping with the rest of it , obviously not a critisism , everything else will last a 100 years and so I think stainless mesh would be a better bet artistically and lifetime wise. keep it coming anyways as love your work.

I am hearing what you say but I didn't want to spend any more time than I have to.
The fins did look ok when it was a fish.

Can't just balance on top.
The lump of brass is a counter weight to mock up
I will have to make the base heavier as well.

I finished base rubbed some shoe polish then Shellac.

Shape a bit and resin the flax fins. I'm happy with that.

In my defense it was internally assessed and art is beauty in the eye of the beholder.
