Junior Hacksaw Blades

Anyone know of any current production Junior hacksaw blades that are any good.
I tried the following brands
Eclipse had no set and got stuck.
Irwin were very sharp, good set, cut ok but snap because they were too brittle.
Bahco ok on brass, on a 8.8 bolt the teeth just rub off.

Old blades from all 3 brands are far better, the old bacho blades cut 12.6 allen bolts with ease.
The new bahco blades are blue/black all over with no marking, the older blades were stamped with the logo and they have a two tone colour, back of blade bronze and edge blue.

I've never found junior blades any good, they all instantly blunt. Tried a few brands.

I have cut and drilled a snapped bandsaw blade to fit hacksaws and it was excellent. No reason it wouldnt work just as well for junior size, after brazing in some pins.

Don’t try Wilco ones, too soft to cut anything much.

No junior hacksaw blades are great but it greatly improves their functionality if you fit them to a proper frame that tightens the blade with a nut. The sprung frames don't hold them tight enough. Also make sure you fit the blade so that it cuts on the pull stroke!

Why are you using a junior hacksaw to cut hardened steel bolts? A full size hacksaw is more suited to that & the blades will last longer!

Limited space? Better to use a hacksaw blade without a frame and suffer bloody fingers for a day, they will be healed before junior has done the job.

I'm sure we had the Wurth ones in work, the one in my frame has been there ages, just pick it up and use it

Frame used was a bahco 228, nice strong frame with screw handle for tension.

Access is aways a problem, mainly use the junior when cutting small items or when zero chance of using a full size blade in.

Have used full size blades on their own plenty of times and have the scars to prove it, insulation tape or heat shrink helps a bit, but always expect to draw blood.

I will have to wait for the boot sales and fairs to restart and hunt out the old ones.

thats a new one on me you always cut on the forward stroke

I have a few small hacksaw frames, Lenox and Sandvik make them, maybe they all do.

Did anyone make a junior hacksaw blade that was any use?

At school I was taught to fit junior hacksaw blades with the teeth pointing toward the handle so you are pulling on the end of the blade to make the cut.
The junior hacksaw spring frame hasn't enough strength to transfer your pushing force on the handle to the other end of the frame to pull the blade through the cut like a big hacksaw.
