Junction boxes... Question for the sparkies.

What's the best jb to use to connect from fixed wiring (10mm t+e) to flexible (h-07)? I don't want an isolator, more a giant fused spur outlet box. I did consider meter tails terminal blocks inside a suitable enclosure with a skintop gland for the flexible.

Other end of the t+e will be the same again but with a length of sy running into the generator cabinet.

Easiest ready made way would be a cooker outlet plate on a surface box.

Takes 10mm t&e and has a cable clamp for the flex.
More industrial would be a box with terminal blocks and cable glands. If you use a metal box, make sure you earth it.

10mm h-07 is something like 20mm OD iirc, so that rules out anything that doesn't have a massive cable grip. I'm leaning towards a the 80a fused, hrc switch as I'm pretty sure I have a few in a box somewhere.

Better solution is just to run the twin and earth straight into the RPC cabinet. But i'd need to figure out a suitable strain relief.

If you're not using crimp lugs then bootlace ferrules help to protect the fine cores as they go into the sort of terminals you find on henley blocks.

Providing you use the correct crimpers, not a pair of pliers! (seen it done)
