Jump Start Packs in Lidl

I have one & it's an impressive little box of tricks. It was able to jump start a 306 diesel with a flat battery three times before needing charged.

I would have bought a Peugeot 306 that needed jumpstarting three times a new battery instead…

Car stuff was yesterday in Scotland. No jump packs

Bought two oil transfer pumps at a tenner each though.

They are really good but I give them a hard life. They will last till they come back in Lidl again.

I've got a couple of these from Lidl and they are fine. I leave one connected to my DS all the time. The only snag is if the power goes off, you then need to re-set it.
Don't lend them to anyone, I did have two, now only one, and the likely suspects all deny knowledge.

Ive had 3 from Lidl/Aldi over the years, and they all stopped working. these says I use a variable voltage supply set at 14.5V to recharge car batteries.

We've got one at work, not the most powerful of chargers, but it works.

Got a lidl one as a maintenance charger on Mrs79’s KTM over winter. It does.

Would want to charge a lorry with it but horses for courses

It’s about 5 years old so possibly a couple of gen before. It’s an in-line thing about the size of a couple of baccy tins end to end.

I have a number of their chargers and my only criticism is that they don't restart automatically after a power cut.

Chargers fine for a few years, just be aware they aren't any good for pretty dead batteries as they need to see a reasonable voltage before they will start to charge and as mentioned the power cut issue.

The jump packs I have found tend to self discharge which means they aren't the best for leaving in the boot for months on end.

Oil transfer pumps work fine, great value for money.

I was getting the 306 ready for the road after laying unused for 4 years so I just needed it moved around the garage. It got a nice new battery when it went back on the road!

Tried changing diff oil with one. Died as soon as the oil reached the pump. Took it back and refunded.

I saw the pumps and wondered if they would be good as coolant pumps. Any idea?

No, sorry. I’ve only used engine oil in them. Not sure what water would be like.

Some pumps don’t like thin fluids like water.

Dems pumps are perfect for a coolant pump...can i introduce my redneck coolant for my cold saw works a dream but make sure you fit a filter as the pump has sliding vanes like an air tool. running my pump off a battery charger till i find a small power supply
