    Hi,

Looking for a glossy black top coat for Jotamastic 87. This will be for all chassis parts

I know 2k black is the ideal solution, but I do not have an aired mask or forced ventilation.

What other topcoats would you suggest?

Unfortunately the parts have been primed for around a year now, is being keyed with 80 grade wet and dry sufficient enough for the key?

    Thanks
    Elliot

Left field suggestion but I have been super happy with zinnser allcoat on top of Jota 87 on my cast iron downpipes.

If it's for a chassis I would be inclined to put a few coats of stone-chip on, you can get it in black (it's your car so your choice.)
Then if you want any single pack gloss of your choice.
For suspension parts just go straight on with the gloss black. (after prepping)

The 87A will certainly need cleaning and rubbed down. Best to do it dry.
Wet and dry will work fine if kept dry but the free-cut or net type sanding sheets will be easier.
I find Mirka Abranet sheets brilliant for the job.

XP hardtop is a good choice. You could always brush it if you don't want to spray.

    Chassis paint ???

    Names on the label

I have scania grey , and gloss black , any stone chips to 87a show up against black / grey ...

The more "over" protection applied , the harder it is to repair if it's a keeper ....

Thanks for the replies. Hardtop XP seems to contain isocyanate. Hardtop CA does not, has anyone used this as a topcoat?

What is the finish of 2k Paints that have been brushed like?

If not I will go the chassis paint route

    Regards
    Elliot
