Looking to make my Mrs a 10th (tin) wedding anniversary present, it will be a small necklace.
Shall I buy some raw material like this?
https://www.ljs-creations-fonderie.com/listing/743257777/label-raw-tin-tags-to-burn-or-hit-with
(And if so is there somewhere a bit closer than France that does this sort of stuff, or has anyone got a bit lying around?)
Or is there some common item thicker than an empty can of baked beans (is that even tin any more?) which I can upcycle? Need about 3-4mm thickness. If I need to melt anything my only source of heat at the moment is a couple of blow torches.
Metallurgists, please excuse my ignorance.
Secondly, does anyone know where I can get the fine chains (probably sterling silver)? I need to have a raid of her jewellery collection to know what I’m looking for really, but the ones I’ve come across after a quick search online look a bit chunkier than what I was looking for.
