jcb grinder dead?

My grinder went off, mid grind.

Shall i bin it, or is there a common fix??

look at the brushes first

Check the flex, plug, power supply, brushes, take it apart, look for anything obvious/burnt out/come loose.

Then bin it and buy a decent make

What were you doing, knocking nails in with it? . If it still looks like it's only been used twice send it back anyway. I had a Stayer grinder from Screwfix a few years ago and it packed up after about fifteen months but not a lot of wear. I asked them to supply me with some brushes to fix it and they replied that they would replace it free of charge if it was as unused as I said so I got a replacement by return post.

mains fuse in plug? right size fitted?

checked all cabling, fuses, everything looks ok.

Pulled it apart, cant see any underlying fault problem with anything.

Warranty is out, as i was previously using my little grinder for everything until i remembered i had the big one...until it died. lol ;-/
