I recently got a Jasic pro 200 mig welder from work for free. It was sent out for repair and came back with faults. Faults found are: IGBT and drive circuitry failure causing no power input from primary to secondary circuit resulting in welding output issues. Just wondering if this is something I can fix at home? Or should I sell it for spares and repairs?

Modern inverter MIG welders, such as the Jasic, are not easy to fix. They contain a large number of electronic components crammed into a small space. Some of these may be unique, or unmarked, or running at high voltage and current. There is usually no documentation or circuit diagrams available.
The IGBT power transistors often fail and this can be identified visually ( smoke, soot, burns, etc. ), but the driver circuits are harder to troubleshoot. If all the failed components are not replaced, new power transistors may fail again on first power-up.
