The small Lidl parkside ones I have had have all been excellent. Best thing about pull saws for me is im left handed & my left elbow is ******** with arthritis. Pulling a saw doesnt hurt as much, pushing does! Likewise planing I tend to often use a plane back to front japanese style & my favorite plane is an old German horned plane that dates back to about 1906, that is designed to be pulled or pushed & is a delight to use.

Here you go! Made by Essingler & Abt in the early years of the 20th century. The blade is quite thin & superb quality taking a superb edge,
Its made from pear wood with a lignum vitae sole, Can be used pushing or pulling & is lovely to use.
If you are fairing the side of a wooden boat its lightness is a big advantage over a metal plane.
