I picked this up last week from @Keith 66, it was going to be a couple of weeks earlier but I stupidly got swarf in my eye so had to delay, Keith was good enough to wait for me. I met at his mate Ron's workshop who handily had a forklift as its a bit of a lump. Keith and his mate were very nice chaps with a few tales to tell, its a pity I couldn't hang around long.
I also met up with @T0rnado69 as I dropped some chequer plate for him that he spotted for sale near me. Staurt is another nice chap but I had to get back to work so again only met him briefly.
The grinder was a sod to tie down as you can't use the table but with four ratchet straps it remained upright on the 250 mile journey. Today with the help of the neighbours big ford tractor, we lifted it off the trailer and hoisted it from the barn up into the workshop above.
View from above before hoisting it up
We used two 1/2" whitworth bolts, a big shackle and a bit of scrap angle to lift it off the trailer and hoist it up.
Here it is nestling in the workshop while I ponder what to do with it next.
I've never used one before, so I asked the neighbour who's work is part farmer part tool maker if he has ever used one and when. He answered yes and only last week then proceeded to show me how it works so that's a good start
I shall post the occasional update as I find a home for it and assemble the various bits, don't hold your breath though
Cheers
Andy
