if concreat its not going to move so as long as the stuff used for fixing it to the floor is right i my self cant see any problems if was on wood the movment would defo need the grooves

None of the parquet I've laid has been cut so that a basket pattern would work i.e. the length of the blocks was never an exact multiple of the width. Most floors tend to be laid as herringbone as it is a better interlocking pattern for the blocks.

If it was me and I needed to remove the existing groove to tidy up the surface, then I'd probably get a rebate cutter for the router and set up some way of machining a new one. My experience sugggests that you'll inevitably get a couple of blocks coming free of their adhesive, which will be held in place only if the T&G is working on all sides.

Sadly, I'm thinking I'm not going to be able to make this one work.

My area is 15sq mtrs. I have 19sq mtrs of block, which should have been enough (almost 30% more than I needed) but about 50% have damage, so I can't lay as is.

If I trim, then I loose area. If all units were recoverable, I'd only just have enough, with no waste. But they won't all be doable. So I don't think I will have enough.

I guess I'll sort through them all to be sure, but, at present, I don't think its going to happen.

I'm now wondering if there is anything better to do with it than burning. It takes up too much space to save forever.

The pattern has full size (original) blocks, mixed with ones that ill have to trim 10mm off the edge.
I think ive got enough if i re-engineer half the blocks, and use the other half as-is.

I need to work out the difference between a spindel moulder and a router (mounted in a table) and probably accquire a tool for recutting the grooves, and shaping the toungue, so as they all interlock.

Because these are from different batches, the groove isnt the same distance from the top surface on all of them, so i think ill re-cut (or reshape) the groove on the original ones too, otherwise some will be "lifted" up by the tongue on the one next to them.

I dont entirely know what a spindle moulder is (in relation to a router) but im thinking that if i acquire one, and make up some sort of carriage, i could work through them reasonably quickly.

Its stupid - i didnt even want a wood floor, and now ive gotten sucked in.

A spindle moulder is just a router that is permanently mounted to a table.

Obviously you need to take care when setting the height, but use offcuts for that purpose.

Groove the lot and use biscuits (or them long versions of biscuits) rather than make em smaller. Mixed sizes sounds like a nightmare.

I have no option - its not the tongue that's missing on the damaged ones, but the top of the groove has cracked away. So the top surface is alreddy narrower than it should be.

Provided the length of all the blocks is the same, herringbone will still work with mixed sizes provided the width of all the blocks in any one row are the same. If you can keep the amount machined off the width due to the front face to a minimum then I suspect that it won't be all that noticeable.
