itunes /comp boffin needed

ive made 2x copys of each title on itunes , yet still nothing will play lol

delted itunes and will reinstall and try again...

I absolutely despise iTunes! For me it is the worst, most frustrating and ilogical music player I have ever used.

steve on your file does it play before you transfer it

there is 2 folders within itunes one is for the ipod the other is the music

i clicke on a song from the hard drive and it wanted to open some other media player and play it

will have a look at those vids later ...got a long day tommorow

I tend to just extract the music folders (they live on the nas these days) fresh install of iTunes, point it to the music folder and import

is that something i could do considering i know next to nothing

Ignore the bit about the nas
Find where the music is and just copy those folders, leave all the other stuff
Put them where you want
Tell ITunes to import folder, point it at the newly copied folder, depending on settings it will either copy them to its default library or just scan the folder
They should all appear in iTunes

That is certainly sound advice, but have a quick look in you music folder in case the files are already there. If so, just skip to "Tell ITunes to import folder, point it at th..."

still stuck guys

new itunes install

folder saved onto desktop showing -itunes -albums-then each song ....click on the song and it plays with some microsoft player so theyre actualy there

go to itunes...add new file or add new folder , cick on that , select the itunes folder on desktop and nothing

still have the artwork and all song titles

dont put it on the desktop try to put it either in my documents or within music folder depending on which os system you have got on your system

im not a lover of clutter on my desktop so keep most things off the thing

after installing i tunes only drag and drop the folder or folders within itunes on the external hard drive into the new itunes folder over writing the new files everything should be fine from there

other than that you needed to go into preferences within itunes program and then search for the itunes folder within your computer

as with a new install i do one of 2 things

install itunes and then drag and drop all the files inside of the backed up itunes folder

or search within itunes preferences to the itunes folder where the backup is however once you unplug it that folder dosnt exist anymore until you replug it back into the pc again

if you was to do it the other way around the new install of the itunes folder can over write all the files therefore you have no music to play
