I dont mind watching some of Stretchs stuff sometimes he gives good advice and builds some great things
BUT this time,you can just see something real bad going to go horribly wrong one day.
No dead man/emergency switch for a start,as for that grinding belt

good machine but i agree, the way he was grinding that flat bar and putting a curve on it, put he very close to that sanding belt.

and they don't take any prisoners.

ive had a 36grit soft disc up my arm on a grinder.
took all the skin off my right arm, i was laided up for two weeks in bandages.

shame he cant tip the sanding belt upwards when not using it. so it aint sticking out waiting to get you.

The tool rest on the grinding wheels dosent take into account varying wear rates. In my experiance useing a grinder for tool sharpening not that uncouth activity he has just performed the finer wheel always wears faster.

Also the wheels are too close together meaning if your sharpening a lathe tool on one stone you will inevitably catch the other, be good for double ended tools

i don't think i would want a sanding belt spinning near my arm.

He is entertaining but unlike double boosts voice, which is my favourite dialect, chucks voice makes me switch of the phone.

I've read up on the guy a bit and he's actually had a pretty tough life, passed from pillar to post, and has moved halfway across the country to restart his life. So, while I agree his voice is grating, I'm impressed with the guy from turning what could have been any other midwest average life into building a youtube career for himself.

Not that any of that excuses the terrifyingly dangerous contraption he's built, of course!

The worst bit is those uprights for the table to bolt to. Absolutely pointless as you don't need to move the table upwards but they will get in the way of pretty much anything but a tungsten.

He says throughout the build that he wants it to last a lifetime, but the wheels are unguarded on the inside and the motor is positioned such that it's fan can pull grinding dust in.
And the belt is too long so instead of the slotted holes in the motor taking up the slack he has a big ugly spring tensioner.

Not to mention it's ugly as sin, that wheel guard, the raw plasma cut edges, etc.

And it's massive, easily taking up as much room as a separate decent belt grinder and wheel grinder.
