It’s a scam or he’s a liar

This was my machine originally.
It has changed hands twice since.
I messaged the seller out of curiosity with a couple of simple questions.
Apparently he’s owned it from new. It’s 2 years old and got less than 100 arc hours on the clock.
It’s actually 8 year old. It’s had 5 owners now iirc and it had recorded 1100 arc hours when I had it. AVOID

Little things give it away.
The torch is a speedway but it’s got a round handle where I turned it in the lathe. The loop in the cable going to the machine. I did thar to tidy up the excess. The quick connection on the six inch bit of hose on the back. My mod. Too much of a coincidence for all those personal touches to be the same. It was mine.

It's well travelled, you couldn't get much further away from civilisation. Common scam using someone else's ID and pictures, the actual seller ID has not been active for over a year.

Well if that was your magicwave then the seller is lying, they cannot then have owned it from new. Are those your photos as well? It may not be a scam as such but they want to improve the selling price by lying about these details. With so many owners of this, is there a known problem with this set?

Possibly a hacked account, never sold before and no buying in over 12 month, would bet my Sunday roast payment would be requested by bank transfer.

They are counting on anyone wanting it to have it delivered. Ask if you can come and view it and see what excuses they come up with. I tried one a couple of years ago and they were away on a trawler so could not be there to hand over.

Good point, that is probably why they say its in Applecross. You may be right.

I very much doubt that's in Applecross - as said, it's MILES out of the way - seen the same scam with Sellers listing big lathes and other machines etc in Ullapool when it's clear there's no engineering works near the place. Hacked accounts.

This needs reporting to the 'Bay who'll remove the listing before someone gets stung. Iirc, a member here lost over a grand to a similar scam a while back?
