All thanks to Carbon popping in and pointing out the obvious. Well it was after he pointed it out
My Colchester Triumph had 2 problems.
The initial one was dirty contacts on a little switch.
Then when that was cleaned it turned out the coil on the contactor had become detached.
I found the little tiny pin holding it in. Cleaned all contacts and she runs like a dream!
