I think the starter is stuffed


Not good for 56 hours of run time from new.

The bush does seem to be a weak point in them.

Most last 1000-1500 hours before needing a solenoid / getting sloppy in the bush

Yes the bronze is all over the place as a light dusting.

I have found a supplier of bushes. Just need to measure to see if one is suitable.

Also check housing for wear.

Well you’re not going to relearn by looking at pictures of them are you has never used a lathe in my life till I bought my little super 7, and an old book on turning !
