It this wiring diagram correct

The relays are powered from the input of the flashers not the output.

Have you got + or - earth? Is it an electronic flasher? Do the relays have suppression diodes across the coils?

You need an American style relay, they use brake lights as indicators. Someone on NRSA used to do them for the rodding fraternity so Steve Langy might know of the kit.

Ahh, I see over there they use slightly different terminology.

Here they are called 4-wire to 3-wire convertors; over there they are 5-wire to 4-wire convertors. See ebay item # 400472952446 for an example. Both are the same, just whether you count the running light circuit or not.

The circuit should work though.

Brake light indicators
To use your stop lights as indicators just follow along.
Bits to buy;
1x 3 pole flasher unit (halfords hfu204) around £4,
2x schrack mt221012 breaker units (rs components (rswww.com)) £6.04 plus vat and p+p each
2x schrack mt78755 bases for above £2.74 plus each,
Rolls of wire 14/030 gauge various colours,
Clips and cable ties,
Spade connectors.

Are you using basic flasher units, e.g. Lucas 8FL and is it connected B to ign. and L to indicator switch?.

See you should of asked me Dave, forget all the complicated relay nonsense, I have indicator switches in stock for £20 that do it all for you, take about 15 mins to fit.

It's sorted thanks .a bad relay and incorrect information on the id/relays. all was fixed.

The turn switch energises the left hand relay when you are turning left and vice versa. It only energises one relay at a time - never both. When the relays are turned off the front indicator lights are disconnected and the back stop/indicator lights are connected to the brake light switch. When a relay is turned on it connects the front and back lights on that side together and supplies them with power via the flasher unit.

Note that the sidelights and tail lights are on a separate circuit - the ones that are a single lamp use two filaments in one bulb.

Apologies if I've made any silly mistakes in this post - it's getting late and I haven't built and tested the circuit.
